Atlas Liberation License (ALL) v1.2

Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person or organization obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the “Software”), to use, reproduce, and modify copies of the Software for non-commercial purposes, including but not limited to education, research, experimentation, prototyping, and community innovation, subject to the following conditions:

1. Attribution:

All copies or substantial portions of the Software must retain this license,
author attribution, and any notices of original origin.

2. Commercial Use:

Commercial use, integration, or deployment of the Software or its derivatives, whether direct or indirect, requires a commercial license agreement with the author or rightful maintainers.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Use of the Software in internal product development pipelines within commercial entities
  • Generation of design assets, CAD files, digital twins, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, or other derivative outputs used in commercial workflows
  • Integration into ERP, MES, or PDM systems for configuration, resolution, or validation purposes
  • Embedding or utilizing the Software in SaaS platforms, APIs, or internal tools that provide commercial value
  • Use in the development or manufacturing of products intended for sale, trade, or professional deployment
  • Any use that contributes to the creation, enhancement, or delivery of commercial value constitutes commercial use under this license.

Commercial usage is permitted only under a registered license agreement, which may include flat-rate or usage-based terms depending on the scope of integration.

3. Openness & Derivatives:

All modifications and enhancements must remain open-source if distributed.
Forks, logic modules, and system extensions must retain this license or a compatible open license.

4. Prohibited Uses:

The Software may not be used, directly or indirectly, in:

  • Systems of oppression or authoritarian surveillance
  • Intentional weaponization targeting civilian populations
  • Projects that promote discrimination, exploitation, or restriction of freedoms

Note: Use in general military R&D or dual-use systems is not automatically excluded, but must adhere to ethical guidelines and cannot violate the above clause.

5. No Warranty:

The Software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied,
including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular
purpose and noninfringement. In no event shall the authors be liable for any claim, damages
or other liability arising from the use of the Software.

This license empowers individuals and communities to innovate freely,
while protecting the ethical use and collaborative nature of the Atlas Protocol.

Third-Party Notices

This project uses Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT) for CAD kernel functionality.

OCCT is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) v2.1,
with an additional exception allowing object code to include header material.

You must comply with the terms of the LGPL v2.1 and the OCCT Exception when using Atlas Protocol together with OCCT components.

Atlas Protocol itself is licensed under the Atlas Liberation License (ALL).
OCC remains licensed under its own terms.
