Having troubles with favicon

Using the following hugo version:

hugo v0.136.5-46cccb021bc6425455f4eec093f5cc4a32f1d12c+extended linux/amd64 BuildDate=2024-10-24T12:26:27Z VendorInfo=gohugoio

Though I have the following settings, the browser tab icon still loads the clarity Icon.

# params.toml file:
iconsDir = "icons/"

And have created the following favicon.html under layouts/partials/ with the following content:

<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="icons/favicon-96x96.png" sizes="96x96" />
<link rel="icon" type="image/svg+xml" href="icons/favicon.svg" />
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="icons/favicon.ico" />
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="180x180" href="icons/apple-touch-icon.png" />
<link rel="manifest" href="icons/site.webmanifest" />

And have all the files places under the static/icons directory:
