Roles of Oskari Community
Oskari Network is a open source development network open for all parties who have signed the Network contract (in finnish). Members of the Oskari Network are listed [here] (http://verkosto.oskari.org/oskari-verkosto/jasenet/).
- The Network owns Oskari software
- Network discusses and disseminates information about Oskari software development and goals
- The members receive information about the development through Network email list and social media channels
- The members are invited to Oskari related events by the Oskari Network Steering group (e.g. Network day)
- One annual meeting
- 3-4 developer meetings
Owners of the development projects (clients). Current [Steering group] (http://verkosto.oskari.org/oskari-verkosto/ohjausryhma/). The Steering Group meets at least 4 times a year and when ever necessary or requested by the Project owners. All the members have a right to vote.
- Coordinator (is chosen annually by the Steering group)
- 1-2 Oskari Network members who are elected annually in the Oskari Network day to represent the Network one year at a time.

- Steering group can invite project owners to present their projects.
Project owners are members of the Oskari Network who have also signed an [Integration contract] (http://verkosto.oskari.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Oskari_Integraatiosopimus_20140129.pdf) with the Coordinator.
Coordinator is the guardian of the interests of both Project owners and Network. Coordinator is chosen annually by the Oskari Network Steering Group and acts also as the secretary of the Group. Coordinator strives to ensure a stable software development with the current resources and guards the openness of the processes. Coordinator is responsible for the procurement processes involving the integration work. Procurement is done under authorization of the Oskari Network Steering Group. Coordinator and Integrator manages together the development line. Coordinator updates the backlog of the software integration. Integrator makes sure the openness is properly fulfilled. The chosen Integrator is responsible for the programming, testing, version management, documentation and support needed for the integration. Integrator completes and divides the tasks if needed and schedules the tasks and decides in which version the new feature will be released.

##Project Steering Committee (former Architectual group) Technical group for Oskari developers and users instructs and guides Oskari development from architectural point of view. It also makes sure that Oskari core is properly maintained. The Committee meets 3-4 times a year. Comments for the development of Oskari are collected in the meetings.
Development projects can organize and acquire tailoring and deployment freely. Tasks may include modifications, deployment projects or maintanence etc.) Architectural principles should be taken into account in development. The source code should be released as open source accompanied by necessary documentation.
