I'm planning on making my own Diva controller. I have experience working with RP2040 and normal arcade controllers but the touch slider seems pretty hard. If you have any and don't mind sharing, could you send a picture of the the way you set up the electrodes for the touch slider?

Do you just have to measure out the length of the area for the slider and divide by 32 to get the length for the copper tape? Or is there a way to get it accurately regardless

Hi, happy to see someone attempting to build this thing.

I can't send you any pictures anymore since the whole thing is glued together for good, but I basically measured the width of the slider from some pictures of the original to be around 550 mm. Then I corrected it down to 548mm to align with the LED strip. This length I divided into rectangular 32 strips with a 2mm gap in between as you correctly guessed. I used a small 3D printed jig to align the strips properly.

In hindsight it would have been better to simply have those copper pads on a PCB instead, so if you have any experience with creating PCBs this is probably the nicest option.

Thank you for responding so quickly! I have no other questions but just wondering if you've had any issues powering the whole setup with a standard 5v 500MA usb port

I measured around 600-700mA with the slider LEDs at full brightness, but had no issues so far on any port. Dimming the LEDs a bit to get below 500mA is no issue since they are pretty bright anyways.

If it's of any usefulness I have a Divaller and a Hori NSW-230. I'd be happy to take any measurements. The Divaller folks also have art templates that will probably tell you how big the panel needs to be, along with the button placement ratios.

I really appreciate the offer but there is no need. Still in the process of saving up to make a proper controller but I think I'll be able to handle myself when the time comes
