Reqvire Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

Thank you for your interest in contributing to Reqvire!

This Contributor License Agreement (CLA) ensures that Reqvire remains open and legally protected while allowing flexibility for future growth.

By submitting a contribution (such as a pull request), you agree to the following terms:

1. Grant of Copyright License

You grant the Reqvire maintainers and recipients of software distributed by Reqvire a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to use, reproduce, modify, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute your contributions and any derivative works.

This license ensures Reqvire remains flexible for future needs, allowing the project to be shared under different open-source or commercial terms if that helps support its continued development.

2. Grant of Patent License

You grant the Reqvire maintainers and recipients of software distributed by Reqvire a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, use, sell, offer to sell, import, and otherwise transfer your contribution and any combination of your contribution with the project.

This patent license applies to any patent claims you hold that are necessarily infringed by your contribution or its combination with the Reqvire project.

If any entity initiates patent litigation against you or another entity (including a cross-claim or counterclaim) alleging that the Reqvire project or your contribution infringes a patent, the patent license granted under this CLA will terminate immediately for that entity.

3. Representation and Authority

You confirm that:

  • Your contribution is your original work or that you have the legal right to submit it under these terms.
  • If your employer owns intellectual property rights in your contribution, you confirm that:
    • You have permission to contribute on behalf of your employer, or
    • Your employer has waived such rights, or
    • Your employer has executed a Corporate CLA with Reqvire.

4. Public Record of Contributions

You understand that:

  • Your contributions (including Git commit metadata, such as your name and email address) will be publicly available in Reqvire’s repository and distribution.
  • A record of your CLA acceptance (GitHub username and timestamp) will be stored privately for project governance purposes.

For more information, please review the Privacy Notice.

Thank you for contributing to Reqvire!
