Plugins with tests

I am just looking over the official plugins as well as the two unofficial ones. But it seems none of them have tests. I get that vitodeploy is not on packagist and it therefor isnt possible to hook into, but is there some other way I can write usable tests that I am missing?

Or do we need to build something like testbench for vito first ?

I am one of those who argue that no plugin should be accepted directly without having been tested and coded... I wanted to try a few plugins, but I had to remove them because they caused malfunctions in Vito!
