In order to reduce any issues legally, we have taken the following steps:

  1. We are using open source packaging that require no additional licensing

  2. We are creating all of our own backgrounds, sprites, sounds, and game objects from scratch, making them our teams own intellectual property.

  3. While there are games of various nature available, we believe our game to be a fully unique game that does not exist in trademarks, copywrites, or any legal protections.

  4. We have located a game using the same name "Ducks in Space" that we were unaware of while planning our game (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1054500/Ducks_in_Space/https://store.steampowered.com/app/1054500/Ducks_in_Space/). We have not found any explicit trademarks on the name and our game acts very differently, so we foresee no issues.
