esv-cli

A command line interface for the ESV API.

Prerequisites

You must have an API token which should either be stored in a config.toml, e.g.:

esv_api_key = <YOUR API KEY>

or as an environment variable, e.g.:

export ESV_API_KEY=<YOUR API KEY>

This could also be stored in a .env file in the root directory of this repository, e.g.:

ESV_API_KEY=<YOUR API KEY>

For more information on creating an API token, see the API docs linked below.

Usage

Building

cargo build --release
export PATH="<PATH/TO/REPO>/esv-cli/target/release:$PATH"

Example

$ esv-cli "Romans 8:31-37"

q
